Acupressure Advanced Massage Therapy

Acupuncture without needles’ releases toxins, mobilises muscles and restores health to the body

acupressure-treatments

Acupressure was developed over 5,000 years ago in Asia.  Many therapies are similar and utilise the acupressure points such as Zonal therapy, Tuina in China, Shiatsu in Japan and reflexology (subsection of acupressure-were focus is on the feet & hands).

Acupressure is also known as ‘acupuncture without needles’ as the same points on the body are manipulated but fingers are used instead of needles.  It activates and stimulates the body’s natural healing response. It is effective in the relief of stress-related ailments, and is ideal in restorative & preventive health care, as it keeps the body in perfect order, if there are no ailments or dysfunctions.  Easter martial artists use acupressure to maintain health and fitness, as they directly correspond to the meridians in the body which govern the vitality of the body system.

As we live our lives, ingest food and water, interact with our environment and take on the stresses that are unique to our life situation, each factor directly impacts on our physical bodies.  If you eat the wrong type of diet or get to the point when we are overstressed then the body functions start to get impacted, as the natural order is disrupted. The natural mechanisms within our body flush toxins and keep ‘order’ or homeostasis but when our body system is disrupted or there is an excess of toxins then they reside and accumulate in the nerve endings and crystalise, as they cannot be flushed.   These crystals inhibit the natural flow of energy and nutrients to various tissues and organs.

In acupressure therapy the fingers and palms are used to stimulate and activate these ‘acupoints’ to encourage the release of a build-up of crystals (toxins) so that natural ‘order’ can be restored, as toxins have an opportunity to be released.  It helps to improve and strengthen circulatory system by carrying nutrients to tissues and organs.  This is a full body treatment and therefore stimulates hundreds of points on the body to include the hands and feet.  Acupressure is ideal for body regeneration and with this particular technique a range of mobilisation & stretching movements are used, so it is perfect for aching muscles or strenuous activity that has taken its toll.
